Employee Planner & Shifts
Employees can be given the ability to view their individual weekly shift planner. Employees may also be given the ability to request ‘Shift Swaps’. In these scenarios, the employee must select a colleague that they would like to swap shifts with.
Mitrefinch Employee Planner
Employees can be given the ability to view their individual weekly shift planner.
The Mitrefinch Employee Self-Service (ESS) Screen Highlights the ‘Employee Planner’ Option. This view depicts the shifts that the employee is rostered/scheduled to work and can also be configured to show the ‘Shift Break’ times. The most common view is the ‘Horizontal Weekly Planner View’ but this screen can also be configured to show the planner in a ‘Vertical View’ depending on the employee’s preference.
Shift Change Requests
If enabled in the ‘Employee Profile’, employees can request changes to their rostered or scheduled shifts. These changes can include ‘Shift Changes’ and ‘Shift Swaps’. Once the employee is logged into ESS they ‘Right Click’ on a shift in the future and can select from a list of options. The ‘Change Shift Option’ will display a screen that allows the employee to select the new shift that they would like to request they work.
Supervisor authorizations
Supervisor authorizations for ‘Shift Change Requests’ are handled in the same manner as ‘Employee Absence Requests’ via automated email notifications.
Shift Swap Requests
Employees may also be given the ability to request ‘Shift Swaps’. In these scenarios, the employee must select a colleague that they would like to swap shifts with.
By selecting a colleague the system will automatically inform the employee of the ‘New Shift’ they will be required to work (if any).
Explanation example:
- Employee 0001 Elaine White is scheduled to work from 08:00 – 16:00 on Friday 30th November.
- Employee 0001 Elaine White requests to swap shifts with employee 0002, Susan Byrne.
- The system informs Elaine White that if the shift swap is approved she will now be scheduled to work from 09:00 – 17:30 on Friday 30th November.
- The system informs Elaine White that Susan Byrne’s new working shift will be from 08:00 – 16:00 on Friday 30th November if the shift swap is approved.
